We try to share our writing at least once a week. The kids decide if they want to share. They share their picture and their words. They also face the audience when they speak. We usually have over 1/2 the class willing to share. I really like that even the shy kids want to share :)
This is a journey of my current kindergarten class from September 2015 through June 2016.

Jammie Day and Free Choice 11/6/15
Jammie Day! We earned our special day since we fill up our classroom coin jar because of good behavior! And then we had our free choice time...And then we left early. What a great day!
Food Adventures #2 11/5/15
Today we had our second food adventure and we made "crazy purple salad." Most of the kids LOVED it. I sent the recipe home that same day.
Then we mixed the ingredients into a bowl with the salad dressing.
The kids would definitely like to have this salad again!
Artist in Residence #2 11/5/15
We learned about felting from our artist in residence Mrs. King. We now know the ingredients to make felt with wool.
First we separated the strands so we could work them back in together with the soapy warm water. Then we applied pressure and we rolled them into balls for a long long time. The kids did a great job.
Then we added some colored wool and formed another felted ball.
Westley gave this activity a "thumbs-up!"
We had to "shock" the felted ball into staying in that position by putting it in cold water.
We put our felted balls in egg cartons to let them dry.
