The Tuesday Before Thanksgiving...Stone Soup
We read several books about "stone soup" and then made it on Tuesday. The kids enjoyed putting it together but not so much eating it. Only a few kids really liked it. They did enjoy the fresh bread out of the bread machine and the butter that we made in the classroom. Yum!
Making butter. Shake shake shake!

The Monday Before Thanksgiving ...
We try to switch things up once in a while. We made some handprint art today and watched Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Naturalist in Residence #2
Teacher Janelle set up an exploration area for us, with soil, seeds, seedlings, and microscopes. The kids had a blast exploring around the room and at their tables.
Jog-a-Thon. IXL on the iPads, and Library News
Jog-a-Thon:
Our jog-a-thon took place on Monday. The kids ran many laps around the gym while listening to some fun music played by Mr. Phillips, our PE teacher. You can still turn in your pledge sheets if you have not done so already. Thanks.
IXL on the iPads:
The kids were introduced to IXL on Wednesday. They worked on some math problems on their own. They also have access to the program at home. My last email detailed how to use it. :)
Library:
Every Monday we have our library day. Kids who have returned their books can check out a new one. Kinders usually stay in the Everybody books for a while, but Mrs. Polikoff felt that our kiddos were ready to branch out and check out books in the non-fiction area: cats, birds, lizards etc.

Buddy Classroom--Visit to the Wetlands 11/13/15
We meet twice a month with our buddy classroom, Mrs. Tubbs' class. Since her class was studying decomposers, they took us out to the wetlands to show us what they have learned. This was such a fun experience for ALL the kids.
