ABCMouse.com:
ABCMouse is a great web based program that helps kids with reading, math, art, social studies etc. Last week I sent home a code to use at home. We use the program on Tuesdays in the computer lab and soon we will use it on the iPads.
Bats:
This week we learned a lot about bats. We made our first can/have/are chart as a class and then the kids wrote sentences about bats. Such a fun activity.
Buddy Classroom with Mrs. Tubbs:
Twice a month our kiddos and Mrs. Tubbs' 3rd graders will meet to do a project together or just spend time together. It's fun and educational for all the kids involved. This week we worked on Leaf Man. The kids made their leaf people. No matter what adhesive I use, the leaves always come off or break off. The activity itself is fun even if the final project never "sticks together"...
Sports Graph:
Today was Sports Day at Mt. View so we worked on a graph of our favorite sport: basketball, baseball, soccer or football. The kids really liked soccer.
Sparky the Eagle:
When the classroom looks clean and organized, Vern, our nighttime custodian, puts Sparky in our room. The kids are always so excited to see him.
