Color Week #2--We were very proud to wear our color of the day. The kids did a great job singing color poems every day.
Library:
We start the week with a visit to our school library where the fabulous Mrs. Polikoff reads to us and allows us to check out books.
Monday we played with sea shells in colored sand. So fun!
We got our new critters on Monday. Pill bug and sow bugs. Of course we still had worms and snails.
Look how small the kids look compared to the fire truck!
Mt. View Garden Visit:
Mt. View has its very own garden run by parent volunteers. Glen Canning, master gardener, gave us a lesson on planting and then took us to the garden to plant a special type of carrots.
It's warm in there. Our carrots should grow just fine!

Artist in Residence (October 8). Mrs. Sharon King taught us how to use oil pastels and to look at Van Gogh's still life painting Sunflowers as a model. We kept adding various colors/shapes to our "canvas" until we had a beautiful group of sunflowers. Every child's piece of art was individualized and adorable.
Writing:
We also worked on our writing and our writing stamina. The kids are on their way to becoming great writers. They already write for 12 minutes. That is amazing this early in the year. Look at the focus!
